Mia brought fresh hope to everything she did, it seemed to me. I met her only a few times ---always she was kind, cheery, full of life. She cooked and laughed and told stories in my house with friends. It is hard for me to grasp her leaving a world that needed her so badly. My stunned heart goes out to her family and her husband, her friends, and those who had even the briefest brushes of her lovely smile. May we all learn to act and hope a bit as she did.
